Lance Bailey & Associates, Inc. provided full architectural services to the District of Columbia Office of Property Management’s (DCOPM) Office of the Aging for the design and construction of a Multi-Purpose Senior Wellness Center in Ward 4 of the city.

The Historic Kennedy Street Theater site selected for the Ward 4 center included several existing structures and the District of Columbia Historic Preservation Office (DCHPO) required preservation of the commercial streetscape in addition to the entire existing theater. LBA successfully designed the center behind the existing street façade in such a way to provide an interior space that is inviting and encourages social interaction between users while simultaneously maintaining and enhancing the historic significance of the existing façade.
